Path Not Taken Now Seen: Prolouge

Zonar exits the Zone portal into an empty moon lit field. "Wonder what Zone I'm in now?" he says as he looks around  at the field, trying to find signs of civilazation. He sighs "Guess I'll just have to look around for a town." And with that picks a random direction and starts walking. After awhile he starts to get tired and hungry. "Hmmm, guess I should set up camp for the night. Not gonna find a town tonight." Finds a nice clearing he takes off his pack and sets up a tent and then a sleeping bag, going straight to sleep as he lays down.

Early in morning he's awoken by shouts and noise. He pokes his head out in annoyance to see what the ruckes is. Only to find a gun pointed at his face to greet him. "....... hello?" is all he manages as he looks up at to a rather angry G.U.N. agent when a familiar voice announces, "By the athuority of G.U.N. you are under arrest for crimes agaisnt Mobius!" as the last four words are said and the one who said it walks up Zonars eyes widen, "Mom?!". The agent growls and wacks Zonar in the head hard with the butt of his gun, knocking him out. As he slips out from conciousness he vaguely see Rouge  yelling at the agent and several others come over and restrain the man.

Several hours later pass as Zonar wakes up to a small room his legs and hands cuffed. He only knows that it's been awhile since he was knocked out as a clock in the room shows it to be alittle after mid-day. He stands up slowly, the pain of the hit to his head becoming increasingly evident as he feels it throbbing. "Ow." he places his hands to it as they are cuffed and feels it. "OW!" he lowers his hands quickly as to not feel it again. He leans against the wall only shortly as he waits and wonders what's going on when the door to the room opens and he's ordered out. Growling only slightly he walks out of the room into the hallway and is greeted by several more G.U.N. agents, these appearing to be less likely to knock him unconcious. "Move" says one of the agents, pointing down the hall as to where he ment by the order. Zonar frowns as he does as he's told, getting escorted down the hall, into an elevator, going up several floors and herded into an interagation room. After being told to sit at the table and doing so does all but two of the agents leave. The remaing two station themselves at either side of the door, ready if something occurs. "....... anyone gonna tell me why I'm here?" Zonar asks, hoping for an aswer. One isn't given.

Behind the one way mirror of the room stands Rouge along with Shadow and their boss, the commander of G.U.N.. "How are we to handle him" Shadow asks, breaking the silence that has ensured since the order to retrieve the grey hedgehog from his room was given. "I'll leave that up to you two. Something strange is going on here and we need to know what." Rouge remains silent as Shadow nods to the commander and walks out of the dark room, around the hall and into the interragation room. Zonar looks over and frowns as he sees Shadow and mutters "Great". Shadow sits opposit of him and looks at Zonar hard and cold. Minutes go by as Zonar stares at Shadow and vice-versa, both with some dislike to the other. "............... well?" Zonar finally asks, "Are you gonna tell me why I'm chained like a criminal?". Shadow's face remains the same as he speaks "You're here because you are a criminal.". Zonar looks at Shadow with not shock but simple disbelief. "Is this some sort of joke?" Shadow just raises his brow at Zonars reaction. "Don't play dumb. We have proof of your crimes as well as witnesses and survivers.". Zonar actually looks at Shadow with shock at the word, survivers. " I-i haven't done anything. I swear." Zonar says with a slight tremor in his voice.

Behind the mirror Rouge arms crossed she tightens her hands into fists, anger in her eyes. "........" she walks out of the room and heads elsewhere. The commander brings up a vid link to the lab to see anything was discovered by examing Zonars stuff, especially one item that had gotten all of their notice. "Commander" says a young blonde lady with a smile. "Anything yet?" he asks her. "Nothing to help explain anything as to why he was out there." she replies. He doesn't bother waiting to ask "And the photo?". "All test come back the same. It's real. Not photomanipulation or anything. Didn't Rouge tell you this already? She asked as soon as I had the results." she looks at the commander alittle confused. He looks at her with an unsettled expresion. "No. She didn't." he replies. "Oh...." is all she says. "Send the photo with te rest of his stuff to the intergation here. We need answers." he orders her, causing her to pause for a few moments before speaking. "I can't. Rouge has the photo.". The commander looks at her in silence as he contemplates how to respond."Send the rest of it here anyways. I'll have a talk with Rouge later." She nods and the screen goes black.

Elsewhere in the G.U.N. headquarters, Rouges quarters specificly, Rouge looks at the photo. "........" remaing silent she keeps staring at it, the picture something that just can't be. In the picture is her hugging Zonars neck, both smiling.
